An architect in South Moor has turned his profession into a business reality with the support of Be Enterprising. Hugh Massey Architects have installed a total of 10 work stations in properties at Mitchell Street and Park Road with the help of funding support from Be Enterprising. The offices are fully equipped for any small business with items such as a computer with MS office software, a printer, broadband internet access, telephone lines and file storage.
Andrew Airlie, LEGI Development Officer for Derwentside District Council said “These workstations have been carefully designed to support new and growing businesses in the Be Enterprising area. Tenants will have the opportunity to access additional support from Be Enterprising and the District Council Development Team.
As part of their tenancy, businesses will have access to the Weboffice tool, which is a secure on-line facility for storing and sharing data. This package, worth in the region of £1,970, will be made available to all work station occupants free of charge for a period of 18 months.
The work stations are competitively priced, have no fixed term contract and only one months notice period.
Hugh Massey, owner of the workstations said “We have been based in South Moor for a number of years and have seen our business grow. We want to share that experience with others by creating a business community”.
South Moor is less than a mile from Stanley town centre, 7 miles from the A1(M) and is within 40 minutes of Newcastle, Durham and Sunderland.
