In terms of sales management, Torrance will be responsible for driving service sales, with a particular focus on increasing the company’s cloud computing customers. OnyxCloud acquisitions will be a key objective for Andy and his team, as the Group look to develop its profile as a leading national provider of cloud computing .

Prior to joining Onyx, Andy was Sales Director at Scottish based IT company Adventi. He brings with him a wealth of IT sales management expertise having worked at a senior level for a number of years including a 12 month secondment working on the employer engagement strategy for the Scottish Government’s ‘More Choices More Chances’ agenda.

“Andy immediately impressed with his strategic nous and level of experience in sales management and business development,” said Neil Stephenson, CEO, Onyx Group.

“His appointment is a coup for the Group and comes during an important period of growth and progression for the company. I have no doubt that Andy will be an asset to Onyx and play a fundamental role in our development within key strategic marketplaces.”

Andy began his career at BT working across the engineering and sales management sector. After leaving BT in 2006, he moved into the public sector as Head of Partner and Market Development across Scotland and Wales.

Andy, who is a keen Kilmarnock supporter, lives in Ayrshire with his wife and two sons and is also a very active member in his local community. He will be based at Onyx’s Edinburgh headquarters.

“I am delighted to be joining Onyx at such an exciting and interesting time for the company and I’m looking forward to extending Onyx’s technology leadership across the UK,” added Torrance. “I’m keen to play a role in taking the business forward, developing a strong presence for the company in new target markets.”
