Expansion at Trade Training Associates
North Tyneside based training provider Trade Training Associates (TTA), has welcomed a new appointment to its team, whose expertise will mark the introduction of a new trade.
Kevin Hogg, 50, of Chester- le-Street, has taken on the role of electrical course supervisor, sharing his 32 years of experience with TTA, gained as a training officer at a north east college.
Along with plumbing, gas, and renewable energy training courses, which have been available since 2008 to individuals seeking industry specific training and apprenticeships in the area, Kevin’s arrival at TTA now permits the company to offer electrical training.
Within his new role, Kevin will be overseeing trainees, building awareness of the new training opportunity to existing clients, and creating new business opportunities.
Kevin Hogg said: “I am delighted to accept this position having worked with Ian Wood and Blake Robinson on previous occasions, and hope to contribute to the ambitious plans the company has for further development.”
Kevin will also be working closely with schools to engage pupils to become interested in a career in the field. With already 145 apprentices on its books, TTA will be taking on school leaver apprentices to prepare them for work in the sector.
Company based apprentices and existing electricians who are looking for electrical training to qualify and meet current regulations will also have the opportunity to gain the skills they require.
Speaking of this expansion to its services, Blake Robinson, director of TTA said:
“With the move into electrical training we will be taking on 12 electrical apprentices, in addition to offering support to eight company based trainees in York, and four in Saltburn. The Quick Step NVQ tracking and assessment service bridges the distance between candidate and our training centre managers, allowing us to expand our focus from the North Tyneside area to the entire region. This will build upon the flexible training, assessment and re-accreditation courses that TTA currently offer.”
This latest appointment increases TTA’s permanent staff to six.
