NomabE5 boosts board with new appointments

Submitted by on Thu, 20.11.08

NomadE5, part of the Isos Housing Group, has appointed four new board members as it continues to implement its programme for excellence.

Jackie Axelby, Paul Fleck, Stefan Ochalek and Trevor Peel, have held a wide variety of roles across the public and private sectors, and bring a wealth of new skills and experience to the Board.

Jackie’s career includes more than 30 years as an NHS manager and 13 years as a chief executive. Since her retirement, she has been chair of the Northumberland Learning and Skills Council and a non-executive director of the Regional LSC council. She is also currently non-executive director of Azure Charitable Enterprises, and has an MBA from Leeds University under her belt.

With an extensive career in the telecoms sector, and roles in locations as diverse as the UK and South Africa, Stefan Ochalek has a strong customer service background and an active interest in decisions that will deliver exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.

Trevor Peel’s career encompasses the social housing sector, along with the criminal justice system, health and consumer affairs. A founder director of Housing Hartlepool, his previous roles also include a period as mental health act commissioner for England and Wales and chair of the Independent Review Panel for Continuing Health Care of the NHS North East Strategic Health Authority.

Jackie, Stefan and Trevor will be joined by Paul in November, when he takes up his position as the newest board member. A resident of the association for many years, Paul is particularly committed to resident involvement and has a background in housing and social services. Currently working in office management, Paul’s daily responsibilities include planning and budget control.

“The NomadE5 board is delighted to welcome our new members, who will play an important role in helping to drive our development and renewal programme, which was initiated following the merger of Nomad and Enterprise 5 in November 2006,” said Alison Stanners, managing director, NomadE5.

“Each new member has a unique set of skills to bring to the company, gained from a wide range of experience across different sectors – reflecting the diversity of the field in which we work – and will greatly add to the strength of our team.”

The main role of NomadE5’s board is to ensure that the organisation achieves its long term business strategy in a way that is consistent with its vision and values. The chair and vice chair of the board also sit on the wider Isos board.
