A leading community figure has received national recognition for her contribution and commitment to Northumberland.
Janice Rose, acting executive director with the Northumberland Strategic Partnership (NSP) has been awarded a Compact Excellence Award highlighting her commitment to the development of the county.
The winners of this year’s Compact Awards - which celebrate and recognise excellent partnership working - were announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in London hosted by Sir Bert Massie CBE, the commissioner for the Compact.
Janice, who has dedicated 10 years to partnership working, said: “I am delighted to have received this award. Along with the NSP team, I am 100% committed to ensuring the economic, social and environmental needs of the county are achieved.
“Thanks to the funding and support of our partners for helping us to realise our vision for Northumberland.”
Sir Bert Massie CBE added: “I would like to congratulate Janice for being awarded a Compact Excellence Award. Without her Northumberland would probably have had a Compact agreement gathering dust on some shelf.”
The Compact is the 10-year-old agreement which sets out shared commitments and guidelines for working between government and the voluntary and community sector. These awards recognise the excellent partnership work taking place at a local, regional and national level.
Organised by the Commission for the Compact in partnership with Compact Voice and the Office of the Third Sector, the five award categories included Compact Champion of the Year, Local Compact of the Year, the Regional and National Excellence Awards, and a Commissioner’s Award, given in recognition of exceptional achievement.
