Deloitte named as No.1 graduate employer in finance & professional services

Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has been named as the best graduate employer in finance and professional services at the Target National Graduate Recruiter Awards, taking the award from PwC which has held top spot for the past three years.

The National Graduate Recruitment Awards is an annual survey of 30,000 students in the UK. The students are asked to vote for their recruiter of choice in the finance and professional services industry. Deloitte was picked ahead of PwC, KPMG, E&Y, HSBC and Barclays.

John Charlton, Partner at Deloitte in Newcastle said: “Nationally, each year we recruit over 1,400 graduates and undergraduates to roles in 21 UK offices. We are delighted to receive this recognition, which we believe reflects our continuous efforts to make Deloitte the country’s top graduate employer.”

For students wishing to join the finance and professional services industry, Deloitte has a limited number of vacancies left for students looking to start this autumn, including vacancies within the Deloitte Newcastle office. Applications for the 2009 intake will open in July this year.
